As part of my studio efforts tour:

live TV rendered from the Pinnacle mpeg box using mplayer compiled with VDPAU (and using it)

the same but on the beamer screen (the above is a picture from the 2 meter 30 wide screen showing live TV with little processing of the picture), really...

Reasons: mp3´s and Kurzweil PC3 sound files for download (see my wiki and sonikmatter forum) and there are bogus web crawlers which try to spam wikis which check the forum, and at a rate which came close to DOS for a small server.

When I keep the server from running too many user things while it is playing server (which it has faithfully done now for years on a row already, 24/7) it does the wiki scripting and databse lookups without swapping or costing much time, so it was fine. Anyhow I blocked the bogus crawlers completely and was a bit sick of it. The router I use does such a job good.

The test of serving about 150,000 hits in one month appeared no problem for any odf the technology or software, that was interesting.

Well, I finally got message they also ship to holland, at least some machine, I don´t know in general, but that´s cool. The prices with the current dollar exchange rate are great but maybe with a unnice feeling... And there are departments which use such sales to make money on, and possibly not a little bit. grr.
